The forthcoming match wherein team Spain will square off against team Denmark will mark the quarter-finals of Men’s Handball Tokyo Olympics 2020.
Defending Olympic champions team Denmark finished as Group B winners in spite of crashing to a shock 33-30 loss to Sweden in the men’s handball competition held at the Yoyogi National Stadium on Sunday and will play against Norway in the quarter-finals.
In a rematch of their world championship final in 2020 wherein the Danes achieved victory for their second straight title, it was Sweden who dictated terms as Lukas Sandell and Jonathan Carlsbogard smashed six goals each in order to earn a measure of revenge. The defeat marked the end of Denmark’s perfect record in Tokyo as they finished with eight points post enjoying four victories out of their five matches, level on points with second-placed Egypt and third-placed Sweden.
On the other hand, Spain will face Sweden in the quarter-finals on Tuesday after the European champions finished second behind France in Group A with eight points post a 36-27 win over winless Argentina earlier on Sunday.
